We've arrived in Selah, Washington for a relaxing week and a half. Our flight from Denver was pretty much perfect. We were running a little behind when we left Fort Collins, but DIA was quiet enough that we actually breezed through check-in and security, leaving us with about a half hour to wait before boarding began. The flight was smooth and we arrived in Seattle (literally) a half hour ahead of schedule! We tried to catch an earlier shuttle but no luck. So we instead had a leisurely lunch in one of the SeaTac Airport's restaurants and watched a DVD on my laptop until our scheduled shuttle bus arrived. The ride was fine - Snoqualmie Pass was wet and a little icy but our driver managed well enough. We ended up arriving at the drop-off point about thirty minutes late but since we had warned Kate's folks, Mary Ann arrived mere seconds before we did.
Now we're safe and sound up here and looking forward to a week of doing not much at all. :-)
Incidently we had a good time with our New Year's Eve celebration. Kate and I joined Ron at Bill and Tammy's house and dragged along a couple of our co-workers Audrey and Harry with us. Bill made up a big pot of white (turkey) chili and we had plenty of chips, veggies, and dips for finger food. We played a couple of games (Wise & Otherwise followed by Apples to Apples) before breaking into two groups. One played a card game called Seasons while the rest went upstairs to beat the stuffing out of one another in Soul Caliber II. :-)
Oh, and guess what? We did have a white holiday this year:
And that's all the news for now. I'll try to post some details about our vacation a little later.
Thanks for reading!
